Damar Hamlin

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin is fighting for his life in a Cincinnati hospital. Yesterday, in the Monday Night Football game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Damar made what appeared to be a routine tackle on Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. After bouncing to his feet after the play, Damar immediately collapsed on the field and went into cardiac arrest. Medical personnel performed CPR for roughly 15 minutes, after which time he was placed in an ambulance and rushed to UC Medical Center. The game was paused briefly and ultimately canceled. Damar is sedated and on a ventilator in the intensive care unit.

In light of this situation, it does not feel right to go about business as usual and to write a recap of the Seahawks-Jets game. Instead, I encourage anyone reading this to take a moment to send healing energy Damar’s way and to hold him gently in your heart.

Prior to joining the NFL, Damar organized a toy drive for children in his hometown community of McKees Rocks, PA. One way we can all support Damar is by making a donation. You can  do so here:
